Program Highlights
AFIA’s Liquid Feed Committee hosted the 41st annual Liquid Feed Symposium Sept. 13-15, 2011 at the Westin Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City, Mo. This year’s program, Industry Innovations, focused on critical technologies and science essential to liquid feed manufacturing and delivery.
The 2011 LFS incorporated an educational program of sixteen top-notch speakers addressing trends, regulatory updates, market forecasts and science with an industry trade show displaying new products and developments. In addition to the keynote address which was delivered by Alex Avery of the Hudson Institute, other speakers at this year’s event included Dr. Dan McChesney of FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine, Ken Eriksen of Informa Economics, Dr. David Dicky of MixTech Incorporated, John Wolford of Blair Ag and Mark Robbins of Ridley Block Operations.
The symposium also featured the Liquid Feed Trade Show, where manufacturers, suppliers and industry-support companies exhibited their products.
Jack Algeo, former department head of Animal Science and Industry at California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, Calif., was inducted into the Liquid Feed Hall of Fame. The honor was presented by Tim Bodine, PerforMix Nutrition.
